Altia announces today code generation support for the new Texas Instruments (TI) Arm®-based AM62x family of processors targeting a broad range of industrial and automotive applications.

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO, March 22, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Altia announces today code generation support for the new Texas Instruments (TI) Arm®-based AM62x family of processors targeting a broad range of industrial and automotive applications. For development teams seeking a low-power processor for a dual-screen display or small-size graphical user interface (GUI) applications, Altia offers a toolset for designing and deploying rich, custom graphics and efficient C code for optimized performance and lowest footprint.

TI AM62x family of processors delivers real-time performance at a lower cost to enable faster development and deployment and help reduce time-to-market. The AM62x includes four Arm® Cortex-A53 processors, a 3D graphics processing unit (GPU), one Arm® Cortex-M4F processor, two PRU-SS and 2GB DDR4 SDRAM. AM62x processors enable dual-screen, full high-definition displays and support for multiple operating systems, including Mainline Linux® and Android™ operating systems. Additionally, the architecture of AM62x processors is designed to reduce power consumption in industrial applications by as much as 50%–enabling an application powered by AA batteries to remain on for over 1,000 hours.

Altia’s GUI development software can further enable low power consumption and high frame per second (FPS) performance for designing and deploying graphical displays with TI AM62x. The Altia DeepScreen code generation solution for this processor is architected to make the most of each feature on chip, resulting in tight, production-ready C code that consumes minimal memory. Companies designing GUIs with Altia and TI AM62x processors can leverage Altia’s time-saving workflow to create full-featured, custom graphics with rich animations and 3D, delivering a high-impact user experience and extended battery life.

“Our DeepScreen code generation architects love designing solutions for new silicon—and they are especially excited to develop new code generators for processors where power is precious and bill of material (BOM) cost is critical,” states Michael Hill, Altia Vice President of Engineering. “The Altia team is proud to provide a concept to code solution for designing and deploying efficient GUI for TI AM62x processor customers.”

Altia is offering automotive instrument cluster and health monitor demos for the TI AM62x processor. Details about the demos can be found on Altia’s TI AM62x product page.
