However, there is a remnant of inspiring young leaders stepping up to the plate to face the challenges — not only of their generation, but of generations that came before them. The DMUN Foundation, a non-profit international relations education organization, is proud to honor founder Jaewon Choi as one of those inspiring leaders.
DMUN is an international non-profit youth organization dedicated to the mission of bringing equity and accessibility to Model United Nations and other educational extracurricular events for youths across the world. What began as a vision by Jaewon Choi when he was just a middle school student in 2021, has blossomed into a global organization that champions diversity, equity, accessibility, and lasting impact.
Created by Youth, for Youth, DMUN is one of the few non-profit international relations education organizations that is specifically focused on youth leadership development and is youth-founded and youth-led. Fueled by a desire to break down financial barriers, Jaewon created the DMUN Foundation to change the face of modern educational content. Working hand in hand with seasoned experts, Jaewon built a platform to democratize knowledge for the younger generation on a global scale.
The DMUN Foundation offers a bevy of programs for interested youth, including Model United Nations conferences, debates, essay competitions, and grants. Programs are completely free and accessible to students from all backgrounds, regardless of their socioeconomic status or nationality. These impactful programs were strategically designed to educate, equip, and empower students with the skills and confidence they need to become effective leaders in their communities and around the world.
